Review Helvetia Hotel
Helvetia Hotel Munich is a 3 star accommodation close to central train station. We stayed two nights in this hotel in August 2010. In customer reviews on the internet, the hotel has good ratings. Our experience with the Helvetia Hotel were also good. The staff was friendly and we had a clean room.
Room
Our triple room was on the streetside on the second floor. In our room were two single beds and one modern sofa bed. All beds were good and we slept well. The windows in the room were large and could be opened. There was no airconditioning. The bathroom had a normal size. The shower and toilet were clean and the towels were changed daily. In the wardrobe was an electronic safety box. The room had modern curtains.
Location & erotic clubs
The hotel is in the Schillerstrasse about 125 metres from the central railway station. Distance to one of the entrances is 200 metres. Between the hotel and the railway station is the U-bahn entrance (75m). The Schillerstrasse is a busy road and not an alley. Several other hotels are in the Schillerstrasse.
At night there was noise on the street. It was not the traffic but the it came from erotic shops and bars with strippers. Beate Uhse’s Atlantic City is a stripclub/ adult movie theater across the Helvetia Hotel. I have read that the closing hours of the stripclub on friday and saturday is 5.00 in the morning (other days at 2.00). In the street was little offending things to watch neither saw i strange looking people in the day or in the evening.
Services
The internet costed €5 for 24 hours. The username and password were long and difficult. The breakfast room was on the first floor. It was small bright room with modern furniture and views on Schillerstrasse. Only a few seats were taken when we eat our breakfast. Food was okay; scrambled eggs, bacon, croisssants, bread, meat, cheese, jam, muesli, yoghurt, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. It costed €4.50 and was worth the money.
